Buddy Miles - "A Message To The People"

Buddy Miles - "A Message To The People" Vinyl LP (Original)
SRM 1-608
Mercury
Original Release - 1971

Buddy Miles was a Bad Man, I mean that in the best way possible, like when referring to Shaft. This release from 1971 has Buddy Miles and his band firing on all cylinders, blending soul, funk, and Rock & Roll with amazing results.

You may know Buddy from his work with Jimi Hendrix, or other greats of the era, but here in "Message To The People" is Buddy Miles with his band, simple as that sounds, its amazing. Within this album lies a treasure trove of wicked guitar solos, bright brass, and smoldering drum rhythms.

For pure power, I'm partial to the opening track: "Joe Tex". I also absolutely treasure the Allman Brother's cover "Midnight Rider". Its a true tribute cover, that carves out its own style, my favorite track on the album by a mile, and that's saying something. If you like Sly & The Family Stone, Funkadelic, or Jimi Hendrix you will love this album.

This original LP from 1971 is housed in a heavy duty gate-fold, its standard black vinyl (in very good condition) and the artwork is super cool all around. Highly recommended if you can find one.

Album - A (If I gave A+ ratings this would be a contender). Pure Magic.

Vinyl - A (Sounds great for being from 1971) Love It.
